Iannis Delatolas is a German-born Greek photographer based in Paris. Raised in a working-class family in Athens, he moved to New York at the age of eighteen, where he lived and worked for more than 30 years. During those years he became part of the downtown art scene and was influenced early on by photographers such as David Armstrong and Marcus Leatherdale.
Delatolas has presented solo exhibitions in New York at Kouros Gallery, the Italian Academy at Columbia University, and the Chocolate Factory Theater, as well as at the Greek Embassy in Washington, D.C.
His work has appeared in group exhibitions in the United States and Europe, including the LGBT Community Center in New York, and in publications by Rizzoli such as Brooklyn Photographs Now and New York: A Photographer’s City, as well as in The First Time I Met Frank O’Hara: Reading Gay American Writers by Rick Whitaker (Four Walls Eight Windows, 2003).
In 2001, he collaborated with Robert Wilson on the opera Prometheus, incorporating compositions by Iannis Xenakis.

Iannis Delatolas est un photographe germano-grec basé à Paris. Issu d’une famille ouvrière à Athènes, il s’installe à New York à l’âge de dix-huit ans, où il vit et travaille pendant plus de trente ans. Durant ces années, il fait partie de la scène artistique du centre-ville et est marqué très tôt par des photographes tels que David Armstrong et Marcus Leatherdale.
Delatolas a présenté des expositions personnelles à New York à la Kouros Gallery, à l’Italian Academy de l’Université Columbia et au Chocolate Factory Theater, ainsi qu’à l’Ambassade de Grèce à Washington, D.C.
